Album Editing

The full editing window lets you modify every aspect of an album—from basic info to tracklists to multiple images.

Opening the Editor

From any album:

  1. Click the Edit button in the detail flyout
  2. Or double-click the album in the grid
  3. Or right-click → Edit Album

Basic Information

The top section contains core album data.

Field Description
Title Album name
Artist Select existing or create new
Genre Musical genre
Year Release year of this pressing
Original Year First release year (from master)

Changing the Artist

Click the artist dropdown to:

  • Search existing artists in your collection
  • Create a new artist

When creating an artist, DeepGrooves auto-detects if the name looks like a solo artist or group.

Information specific to this pressing.

Country Country of release
Barcode UPC/EAN code

Format & Physical Details

For vinyl records:

Field Options
Format Vinyl, CD, Cassette, Digital, etc.
Size 12" LP, 10" EP, 7" Single
Speed 33⅓ RPM, 45 RPM, 78 RPM
Color Free text (e.g., "Red Translucent")
Disc Count Number of records in set

Condition Grading

Grade your copy using the Goldmine standard.

Media Condition

The playing surface of the record itself:

  • Mint (M) — Perfect, unplayed
  • Near Mint (NM) — Nearly perfect, minimal signs of handling
  • VG+ — Shows some wear but plays without issues
  • VG — Noticeable wear, light surface noise
  • G+ — Significant wear, audible noise
  • G — Heavy wear, plays through with noise
  • Fair — Barely playable
  • Poor — Damaged, skips

Sleeve Condition

The jacket, cover, or packaging—same scale as media condition. Consider seam splits, ring wear, writing, stickers.

Purchase Information

Track your acquisition.

Storage Location

A free-text field for noting where the album is stored. For detailed physical tracking, use the Vault feature instead.

Notes

Personal notes about this album. Add anything you want to remember:

  • Pressing variations
  • Purchase story
  • Listening notes
  • Condition details

Collectibility Flags

Check boxes for special attributes.

Autographed Signed copy
Promo Promotional copy
Limited Edition Limited run
Colored Vinyl Non-black vinyl
Checkbox row for collectibility flags

For autographed copies, you can also note who signed it.

Folder Assignment

Check the folders this album belongs to. Albums can be in multiple folders simultaneously.

Create new folders from Settings if you need additional organization.

Track Management

The tracklist section shows all tracks with side, position, title, and duration.

Editing Tracks

Click a track to edit:

  • Title
  • Duration
  • Side assignment
  • Position
  • Composer
  • Featuring artist

Adding Tracks

Click Add Track to create a new track. Fill in the details and save.

Deleting Tracks

Select a track and click Delete to remove it. Confirm when prompted.

Reordering Tracks

Drag tracks to reorder them within a side, or change their position numbers manually.

Fetch from Discogs

Click Fetch Tracks from Discogs to pull the tracklist from the Discogs database.

If differences exist, you'll see a comparison view to select which changes to apply.

Image Management

Manage multiple images for an album.

Viewing Images

Use the ← and → arrows to browse through images.

Adding Images

  1. Click Add Image
  2. Choose source: From File, From URL, or Search Online
  3. Select or enter the image
  4. Image uploads and appears in gallery

Setting Primary Image

The primary image is shown in the collection grid. Click Set as Primary on any image.

Deleting Images

Click Delete to remove an image. The primary image cannot be deleted until another is set as primary.

Saving Changes

Click Save to commit your changes. The album updates in your collection immediately.

Click Cancel to discard changes and close the editor.

Duplicate Warning

If your changes create a potential duplicate (same artist and title as another album), DeepGrooves warns you before saving.

Context Menu

Right-click in text fields for standard editing options (Cut/Copy/Paste, Undo/Redo).

Right-click on tracks for track-specific actions:

  • Edit Track
  • Delete Track
  • Move Up/Down
