Your Collection

Your collection is the heart of DeepGrooves. This is where all your albums live, organized and ready to explore.

Library Views

The sidebar lets you switch between different views of your albums.

1. Click Collection to see albums you own
2. Click Wishlist to see albums you want to acquire
3. Click Favorites to see albums marked with ❤️

View Modes

Switch between display layouts using the view toggle in the toolbar.

View	Description
Grid	Album covers as tiles—hover for quick info
List	Compact table showing title, artist, year, condition

Grouping Options

Organize your view by clicking the Group dropdown:

• By Artist — Albums grouped under each artist
• By Letter — Alphabetical groups (A, B, C...)
• By Decade — 1960s, 1970s, 1980s...
• None — Flat list, no grouping

Searching Your Collection

The search bar in the toolbar finds albums instantly as you type.

1. Click the search bar (or press Ctrl+F)
2. Type your search terms
3. Results filter as you type

Search matches against: album title, artist name, genre, record label, catalog number, and your notes.

Troubleshooting

• No results — Check spelling. Try partial words.
• Search not working — Clear filters first. Filters + search combine.

Advanced Filters

Click the filter icon to open the advanced filter panel.

1. Click the filter icon in the toolbar
2. Set your criteria (year range, condition, rating, etc.)
3. Click Apply to filter the collection
4. Click Clear All to reset

Available filters:

• Text search with scope (Title, Artist, Genre, Label, Notes)
• Release year range
• Acquisition date range
• Price range (purchase or estimated value)
• Minimum rating (1-5 stars)
• Vinyl condition
• Vinyl size (12", 10", 7")
• Has artwork / Missing artwork

Saved Searches

Save frequently-used filter combinations as presets.

1. Set your filters
2. Click Save Search
3. Enter a name for the preset
4. Access saved searches from the search history dropdown

Sorting

Click the sort dropdown to change album order.

Sort Option	Description
Artist	Alphabetically by artist name
Album	Alphabetically by album title
Year	By release year
Date Added	When you added it to DeepGrooves
Rating	Your star rating (highest first)
Condition	Media condition (Mint → Poor)
Value	Estimated value (highest first)
Play Count	Most played albums first
Random	Shuffle for discovery

Toggle ascending/descending with the arrow button next to the dropdown.

Multi-Level Sorting

For precise control, set up to three sort levels. Example: sort by Artist → Year → Album title.

Sidebar Navigation

The left sidebar provides quick access to browse your collection.

Genres

Click any genre to filter. Album counts show next to each genre.

Artists

Browse artists alphabetically. Click to see only that artist's albums.

Folders

Your custom organizational folders. Create folders for any purpose—"To Listen," "Rare Pressings," "Garage Sale Finds."

Multi-Select Mode

Work with multiple albums at once.

1. Click the Select button in the toolbar (or Ctrl+Click albums)
2. Check the albums you want to select
3. Use the bulk action toolbar that appears
4. Click Clear Selection or press Escape when done

Bulk actions available:

• Add to Folder
• Set as Favorite / Remove Favorite
• Move to Wishlist / Move to Collection
• Delete

Album Cards

Each album card displays:

• Cover art (or placeholder)
• Album title and artist name
• Release year
• Star rating (if rated)
• Colored folder badges
• Vault location tag (if stored)

Context Menu

Right-click any album for quick actions.

Context menu options:

• Open album details
• Edit album
• Rate (1-5 stars)
• Toggle favorite
• Add to folder
• Find in Vault
• Delete

Album Count

The album count in the toolbar shows how many albums match your current view and filters. Watch this number change as you search and filter.
