Vault

The Vault tracks where your vinyl is physically stored. Know exactly which shelf, crate, or slot holds each record.

Vault Hierarchy

The Vault uses a three-level hierarchy:

Level	Example	Purpose
Room	Living Room, Basement	Physical room or zone
Unit	Kallax, Expedit, Milk Crates	Storage furniture or container
Slot	A1, Row 2, Left Side	Specific location within the unit

Opening the Vault

Access the Vault from:

• Menu → Vault in the main menu
• View → Vault Browser from the menu bar
• Click the Vault breadcrumb on any album

Creating Your Structure

Add a Room

1. In the Vault browser, click Add Room
2. Enter the room name
3. Click Create

Add a Storage Unit

1. Select a room in the tree
2. Click Add Unit
3. Enter the unit name
4. Choose a unit type (Shelf, Crate, Cabinet, etc.)
5. Click Create

Add Slots

1. Select a storage unit
2. Click Add Slot
3. Enter slot name or use auto-generation
4. Click Create

Auto-generation creates sequential slots like A1, A2, A3 or 1, 2, 3.

Navigating the Tree

The left panel shows your location tree:

• Click ▶ to expand a room or unit
• Click any location to view its contents
• Use the breadcrumb trail to navigate up

Assigning Albums to Slots

From the Vault

1. Select a slot
2. Click Assign Albums
3. Search or browse your collection
4. Select albums to assign
5. Click Assign

From an Album

1. Open the album detail panel
2. Click the Vault location field
3. Browse or search for the slot
4. Select and confirm

Drag and Drop

Drag albums from the grid directly onto slots in the tree. Works with multiple selections.

Viewing Slot Contents

Click any slot to see the albums stored there. The right panel shows:

• Album covers in a grid
• Total count
• Quick access to album details

Moving Albums Between Slots

Drag albums from the content panel to a different slot in the tree. The location updates immediately.

Managing Locations

Rename

Right-click any room, unit, or slot and select Rename.

Delete

Right-click and select Delete. If the location contains items:

• Rooms — Must remove all units first
• Units — Must remove all slots first
• Slots — Albums are unassigned but not deleted

Searching the Vault

Use the search field above the tree to find locations by name. Results highlight matching rooms, units, and slots.

Album Detail Integration

Once an album is assigned to a vault location, the breadcrumb appears in the album detail panel:

Click the breadcrumb to jump directly to that vault location.

Tips

• Plan your structure first — Match your physical setup
• Use meaningful slot names — "Left Side Row 1" beats "Slot 47"
• One album per slot works best — But slots can hold multiple records
• Update when you reorganize — Keep digital and physical in sync
