Artist Browser
Browse your collection organized by artist. Artist Browser is useful when you want to move through the collection by who made the music instead of by folder, genre, or release year.
Opening Artist Browser
Open Artist Browser from the artist-related navigation entry when available. If your current layout does not show a separate Artists entry, use Collection search, artist filters, or Smart Collections instead.
Artist List
The left panel shows artists from your collection. Depending on your data, artist names may come from the DeepGrooves catalog, imported metadata, or manual entries you added yourself.
Each row can show:
- artist name,
- album or release row count,
- and alphabetical sorting.
Click an artist to view their albums.
Counts in Artist Browser are browsing counts, not always copy counts. If you own multiple copies or pressings from the same artist, grouped views may show fewer rows than your sidebar copy total.
Viewing An Artist's Albums
Select an artist to see their albums in the main panel.
While viewing an artist:
- album covers appear in a grid or list where supported,
- click any album to open the detail flyout,
- use the same album actions you use from the main collection view,
- compare years, labels, and catalog numbers when an artist has several similar releases,
- and use multi-select actions if they are available in that surface.
Searching Artists
Use the search field above the artist list.
- Type part of the artist name.
- Results update as you type.
- Clear the search to show all artists again.
Search is helpful when your collection has many artists, variant names, or artists with similar spelling.
Sorting Options
Change how artists are sorted using the available sort control.

Cleaning Up Artist Names
If an artist appears twice because of spelling, punctuation, "The" prefixes, aliases, or imported metadata differences, open the related albums and review their artist fields. Use the catalog match when it is correct, or edit manual records so the artist name sorts the way you expect.

- Artist Browser grouping,
- Smart Collections,
- Statistics,
- and Sharing.

| Find possible duplicates | See whether you have multiple similar pressings or accidental duplicate records for an artist. |
| Discover patterns | Identify who you collect most and where your collection leans. |
| Move quickly | Jump to an artist faster than scrolling the full collection. |
| Compare pressings | Review years, countries, labels, and catalog numbers for the same artist. |
