Audio Previews
Audio Previews
Audio previews let you sample tracks from an album detail page when preview audio is available. They are useful for remembering how a record sounds, checking a version before adding it to Wishlist, or deciding what to play next.

Where Previews Appear
Previews appear in the tracklist section of album detail when DeepGrooves has a usable preview source for that track.
You may see:
- a Play action beside a track,
- a Stop action while a preview is playing,
- a playing indicator or equalizer animation,
- a Play All action when several tracks have previews,
- or no preview action when a clip is not available.
Playing One Track
- Open an album detail view.
- Find a track with a Play action.
- Click Play to start the preview.
- Click Stop to end it early, or wait for the preview to finish.

Only one preview should play at a time. If you start another preview, the first one stops.
Play All
Use Play All when you want to sample the album quickly.
- Click Play All above the tracklist.
- DeepGrooves plays the first available preview.
- Tracks without previews are skipped.
- Playback advances through available previews.
- Use Stop All or leave the page to end playback.

Why A Preview May Be Missing
Not every track has a preview. Availability can depend on:
- whether a preview exists for that track,
- regional licensing,
- artist/title matching,
- track title differences between pressings,
- temporary provider or network issues,
- and whether the album has a complete tracklist.
If a preview is missing, your collection data is not necessarily wrong. It only means DeepGrooves does not currently have a playable clip for that track.
Audio Output And Auto-Stop
Previews play through your browser audio output. Your system volume, browser volume, and tab mute state control what you hear.
Previews should stop when:
- you close the album detail flyout,
- you open a different album,
- you navigate away,
- you close the browser tab,
- or another preview starts.
This keeps audio from continuing unexpectedly in the background.
Tips
| Tip | Description |
|---|---|
| Sample before buying | Use previews while reviewing Wishlist or Store Mode results. |
| Rediscover records | Preview albums you have not played in a while before logging a spin. |
| Check track identity | If a preview sounds wrong, compare the artist/title and pressing details before editing. |
| Do not treat previews as ownership data | A missing preview does not mean the track is missing from your record. |
