Adding Albums
The Add Media Window
Click the + Add Media button in the toolbar to open the Add Media window. This is your hub for all import methods.

Adding via Discogs Search
The fastest way to add albums with full metadata automatically.
- Click + Add Media in the toolbar (or press
Ctrl+N) - Enter an artist name, album title, or catalog number in the search field
- Press Enter or click Search
- Browse the results grid
- Click Add to Collection on the correct pressing
- Confirm the import

Choosing the Right Pressing
Discogs has separate entries for each pressing. Each result shows:
- Country of release
- Label and catalog number
- Format (LP, CD, 7", etc.)
- Year of this pressing
- Community Have/Want counts
Higher "Have" counts often mean it's a common pressing. Higher "Want" counts suggest rarity or desirability.
Troubleshooting
- No results — Try the catalog number from the label. Check spelling.
- Too many results — Add more specifics: year, label name, or format.
- Wrong pressing — Look at the catalog number on your physical album and match it.
Barcode Scanning
Scan a barcode using your webcam for instant lookup.
- Click the camera icon next to the search field
- Position the barcode in the yellow guide area
- Hold steady — scanning is automatic
- When detected, results appear
- Select the correct pressing and add

Supported formats: EAN-13, EAN-8, UPC-A, UPC-E, CODE-128, CODE-39.
Troubleshooting
- Camera not working — Check browser permissions. Ensure no other app is using the camera.
- Won't detect — Clean the barcode area. Try different lighting.
- No results — Barcode may not be in Discogs. Try text search.
